Brady earns Barty praise

World number one Ashleigh Barty was full of praise for American Jennifer Brady after she reached her maiden Grand Slam final at the Australian Open.
Brady claimed her first WTA title at the Top Seed Open in Lexington in August of last year and since that success she has gone on to bigger and better things.
The 25-year-old highlighted her improvement with a run to the semi-finals of the US Open last season and her rapid rise is showing no signs of slowing down.
Brady, who is now up to number 13 in the world rankings having been as low as 55 just two years ago, produced a career-best effort to make the final of the Australian Open earlier this month.
The Pennsylvania native was beaten 6-4 6-3 by Naomi Osaka in the final, but it was further evidence that she is developing into one of the game's elite performers.
And Australian ace Barty, who regularly partners Brady in doubles competition, was delighted for the American.
Speaking to reporters ahead of competitions at the Adelaide International, Barty said: "I was absolutely rapt for her, genuinely pumped.
"She's such a brilliant person off the tennis court and then I think on the tennis court she's a superstar.
Barty, who claimed Grand Slam glory at the French Open in 2019, added: "She definitely belongs at the latter end of the big tournaments and I'm so happy for her that she's being able to experience that and kind of know that she belongs there."
Brady is 67.00 to win the French Open in May, while Barty is 11.00 to triumph overall again in Paris.
