Gordon Elliott unleashed another top juvenile hurdling prospect at Fairyhouse on Saturday, with Teahupoo showing himself to be a Cheltenham Festival hopeful.

The Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle - on the first day of the meeting - looks his most likely festival target with his trainer already mob-handed in the Triumph with two leading fancies, Zanahiyr and Quilixios.

We'll see how he comes out of today and then make a decision.

On Saturday, Teahupoo staked his Cheltenham claims with an emphatic seven-length victory in the Grade 3 Norman Colfer Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle under Robbie Power.

The four-year-old was extending his unbeaten record to three in the Robcour silks, and his win was even more impressive given he was carrying a 4lb penalty.

Elliott said: "He's improving every run, has a great attitude and jumped a lot better today. He galloped to the line after missing the last and he's a horse with a good future, not just as a juvenile."

Teahupoo was also shortened to 17.00 for the Triumph Hurdle and 26.00 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdles, but Elliott has a host of options in Ireland to look at too.

"I'll speak to the owners," added the trainer. "He's in the Boodles and Supreme Novices' Hurdle too, as well as Fairyhouse two weeks after the festival.

"We'll see how he comes out of today and then make a decision, there's plenty of prize-money on offer at home too."
