Immobile stresses need to be clinical

Lazio hitman Ciro Immobile has highlighted the importance of being clinical when they host Bayern Munich in the last-16 of the Champions League on Tuesday.

Immobile is enjoying another fine season in front of goal, notching 19 times across all competitions, and his strikes were key in securing second spot in Group F.

The Italy international netted five of Lazio's 11 goals during the group stage as they finished three points adrift of winners Borussia Dortmund to reach the last-16 for the first time since 1999-2000.

We know that we will have to give something extra to achieve the perfect game.

Lazio now face the unenviable task of trying to defeat defending champions Bayern Munich over two legs to continue their progress in the competition.

Bayern are unbeaten in 17 Champions League outings, winning 16 during that sequence, and have only failed to go beyond the last-16 once since 2011.

However, the Bavarians have failed to win in their last two outings domestically, drawing with Arminia Bielefeld and losing to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Despite their recent mini-slump, Immobile isn't taking them lightly and expects his chances to be few and far between.

"Obviously, it will be a very difficult game," Immobile said. "We will try to do our best in the two legs, aware that we won't change our style of play. We will always do what we know, and we know that we will have to give something extra to achieve the perfect game.

"They're a very [attack-minded] team, who play quick, total football, so it will be difficult for us to stop their attacks; then we'll look to cause them problems in their weak spots.

"It's clear we won't have as many chances as in previous games, so we have to be focused on taking advantage of them."

Lazio can be backed at 4.00 to earn a shock win over Bayern Munich, who are priced at 1.85, while the draw is available at 3.80.

I Biancocelesti are 4.50 to qualify, with Bayern 1.18.
