RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams believes "winning a Bundesliga title" is among the club's ambitions as they close in on Bayern Munich at the league summit.

Second-placed Leipzig now trail leaders Bayern by only two points in the league standings with the Bavarians suffering a shock 2-1 defeat away to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday and Julian Nagelsmann's side prevailing 3-0 against Hertha Berlin 24 hours later.

We have such a young team, we want to win trophies.

The Red Bulls have done well to pull themselves back into the title race, having been seven points adrift of top spot at the start of the month.

USA international Adams has featured in each of Leipzig's last two wins over Augsburg and Hertha, providing an assist for Nordi Mukiele in their win at the weekend, and the midfielder has spoken about the club's goals for the campaign.

Die Roten Bullen fell to a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie but have other silverware options are also into the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal.

Julian Nagelsmann's men now look genuine contenders for the Bundesliga title with 12 league matches remaining this term.

Speaking to Bundesliga.com, Adams said: "For me when you come to a club like this, and we have such a young team, we want to win trophies.

"We have big ambitions as a club and obviously winning a Bundesliga title is one of those goals. So we're close right now, but there are still so many games to play so we have to stay focused."

RB Leipzig are 1.53 to beat Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, who are 6.00 to win with the draw 4.20 in the Bundesliga.

Die Roten Bullen are 6.00 to win the Bundesliga 2020-21, with Bayern 1.12.
